1. Our Editorial Mission
Texas Women In Music BLOG | PODCAST | MAGAZINE (“Texas Women In Music,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a digital media publication dedicated to documenting, celebrating, and amplifying the voices, creative accomplishments, and professional contributions of women and nonbinary individuals within the music industry.
Our mission is to provide thoughtful, engaging, and informative editorial content that reflects the diversity of experiences, perspectives, and creative disciplines within the music community.
Texas Women In Music is operated by Duae Stellae Media, LLC, a women-owned limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States.
We are committed to maintaining editorial integrity, accuracy, fairness, transparency, and respect for the individuals and communities featured in our publications.
2. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made according to the mission, standards, and creative direction of Texas Women In Music.
Our editorial team determines which subjects, stories, interviews, and creative works are appropriate for publication.
Editorial consideration does not guarantee publication, favorable coverage, or promotional placement.
We strive to maintain editorial independence from outside commercial, professional, and personal interests.
No artist, publicist, record label, management company, advertiser, sponsor, or other outside party is entitled to control our independent editorial coverage.
Any exceptions involving sponsored or commissioned content will be identified and handled transparently.
3. Accuracy and Fact-Checking
We strive to publish information that is accurate, appropriately sourced, and presented in context.
Our editorial team and contributors are expected to take reasonable steps to verify factual claims before publication.
These steps may include:
Confirming names, professional titles, and organizational affiliations.
Verifying dates, event details, project announcements, and publicly reported accomplishments.
Consulting reliable primary sources and supporting documentation when appropriate.
Distinguishing verified facts from personal opinions, interpretations, and speculation.
Seeking clarification when information is incomplete, contradictory, or uncertain.
Providing appropriate attribution for statements and information obtained from outside sources.
When information cannot be independently verified, we may identify its source or explain relevant limitations.
We do not knowingly publish fabricated interviews, quotations, credentials, or factual claims.
4. Fairness and Context
We strive to represent individuals, organizations, and events fairly and in appropriate context.
Editorial content should distinguish factual reporting from commentary, personal opinion, criticism, and promotional information.
When publishing material involving significant allegations or potentially damaging factual claims, we will make reasonable efforts to verify the information and seek a response from affected parties when appropriate.
We may summarize, edit, or excerpt interviews for clarity, length, and presentation, provided that the edits do not knowingly distort the speaker's intended meaning.
We recognize that reasonable people may interpret artistic work, professional experiences, and industry developments differently.
Our editorial standards do not require us to treat unsupported claims as equivalent to well-supported information.
5. Interviews and Guest Participation
Texas Women In Music conducts interviews with musicians, artists, creative professionals, organizational representatives, and other individuals whose experiences are relevant to our editorial mission.
Interviews may be conducted remotely using digital communication and recording technologies.
Interview guests are generally invited to participate voluntarily and are not compensated for their appearances.
Participation in an interview does not guarantee publication, a particular publication date, or a specific editorial presentation unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Our editorial team may edit recorded interviews for clarity, pacing, length, technical quality, and relevance while making reasonable efforts to preserve the meaning and context of guest statements.
Recording permissions, publication rights, and distribution arrangements may be governed by separate written guest agreements.
Interview guests may request corrections of factual inaccuracies. However, participation does not automatically grant the right to approve, control, or veto independent editorial content.
6. Attribution and Originality
We respect the intellectual property rights and creative contributions of others.
Writers, editors, photographers, producers, and contributors are expected to:
Produce original work or properly identify and attribute material created by others.
Avoid plagiarism and unauthorized reproduction.
Accurately identify the sources of quotations, research, and supporting information.
Obtain necessary permissions for copyrighted material when required.
Disclose relevant limitations concerning the origin or authenticity of submitted material.
We may decline, revise, or remove content that fails to meet these standards.
Copyright ownership and permissions are also addressed in our Copyright Notice & DMCA Policy and applicable contributor agreements.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Editorial personnel and contributors are expected to disclose personal, professional, or financial relationships that could reasonably affect, or appear to affect, their editorial judgment.
Potential conflicts may include:
Financial interests in an artist, business, or organization being covered.
Close personal or professional relationships with an interview subject.
Employment, consulting, or promotional relationships involving a featured organization.
Gifts, compensation, or other benefits connected to potential editorial coverage.
Disclosure of a potential conflict does not automatically prohibit coverage.
When appropriate, Texas Women In Music may assign the story to another contributor, disclose the relationship to readers, or decline the assignment.
8. Promotional, Sponsored, and Partner Content
Texas Women In Music may publish announcements, artist profiles, event information, organizational updates, and other content that provides promotional value to featured individuals or organizations.
Ordinary editorial coverage is not automatically sponsored content merely because it discusses an artist's work or upcoming events.
Where content is created in exchange for compensation or another material benefit that requires disclosure under applicable law, we will identify the relevant relationship clearly and conspicuously.
Sponsored content, paid promotional placements, and material partnerships will not be intentionally presented as independent editorial coverage.
Editorial contributors must disclose relevant commercial relationships to the publication.
9. Artificial Intelligence and Editorial Responsibility
Texas Women In Music recognizes that artificial intelligence and other digital tools may support certain research, transcription, editing, production, and administrative activities.
Any use of such tools must be consistent with our standards for accuracy, attribution, privacy, and editorial integrity.
AI-generated information must not be treated as verified solely because it was produced by an automated system.
Human editorial personnel remain responsible for reviewing content before publication.
We do not knowingly present fabricated AI-generated quotations, interviews, performances, or representations of real individuals as authentic.
Additional information about our practices may be provided in a separate AI & Content Transparency Policy.
10. Respect, Inclusion, and Professional Conduct
Texas Women In Music is committed to respectful and professional treatment of interview guests, contributors, readers, and members of the music community.
Our editorial mission emphasizes the experiences and contributions of women and nonbinary individuals.
We strive to represent individuals accurately and respectfully, including the names, pronouns, professional identities, and affiliations they use.
We do not tolerate harassment, threats, or discriminatory abuse in our editorial operations.
Constructive criticism, artistic disagreement, and responsible reporting remain consistent with our commitment to respectful discourse.
11. Corrections Policy
We recognize that errors may occur despite reasonable editorial review.
When we identify a material factual error in published content, we will evaluate the issue and make an appropriate correction.
Corrections may involve:
Correcting inaccurate names, dates, titles, or factual details.
Updating information that was incomplete or misleading.
Clarifying language that could reasonably create a materially incorrect impression.
Correcting inaccurate quotations or attributions.
Revising captions, credits, or other supporting information.
Material corrections will ordinarily be accompanied by a dated correction notice explaining the nature of the change.
Minor typographical, formatting, grammatical, or technical corrections that do not materially alter the meaning of a publication may be made without a formal correction notice.
We distinguish between correcting an error and updating information that has changed since the original publication.
12. Clarifications and Updates
A clarification may be issued when published information is technically accurate but lacks important context or could reasonably be misunderstood.
An update may be added when new information becomes available after publication.
Where appropriate, material updates or clarifications will be identified within the affected article or publication.
We will not intentionally use corrections or updates to conceal significant editorial changes.
13. Retractions and Content Removal
In exceptional circumstances, Texas Women In Music may retract or remove published content.
Reasons may include:
Substantial factual inaccuracies that cannot be adequately corrected.
Fabricated or materially misrepresented information.
Plagiarism or serious copyright violations.
Significant privacy or safety concerns.
Legal obligations or other compelling circumstances.
Where appropriate and legally permissible, a retraction notice may explain why the material was withdrawn.
We do not ordinarily remove accurate, lawfully published editorial content solely because an individual or organization no longer wishes to be featured.
Requests for removal will be evaluated individually, taking into account applicable law, contractual commitments, editorial integrity, privacy, safety, and the public interest.
14. Podcast Corrections
Because podcast content may be distributed through multiple digital platforms, corrections to audio or audiovisual material may require a different approach from corrections to written articles.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
Correct accompanying episode descriptions or show notes.
Publish a written correction on the relevant webpage.
Add a correction or clarification to an episode description.
Edit or replace a recording when technically feasible and appropriate.
Publish a follow-up statement or correction in a subsequent episode.
We cannot guarantee immediate changes to copies distributed or cached by independent third-party platforms.
15. Digital Magazine Corrections
When a material error is identified in a digital magazine, we may correct the online publication, issue a revised digital edition, or publish a correction notice.
The appropriate method will depend on the nature of the error, publication format, and technical feasibility.
Previously downloaded or independently archived copies may remain unchanged.
16. Reporting Errors and Requesting Corrections
Readers, interview guests, contributors, and other interested parties are encouraged to notify us of potential factual errors.
Correction requests should include:
The title of the article, podcast episode, or magazine feature.
A direct link to the content, when available.
A description of the alleged error.
The proposed correction or clarification.
Supporting documentation or reliable sources, when available.
The requester's name and contact information.
Editorial Corrections Contact:
(Email) info@texaswomeninmusic.com
We will review requests in good faith and determine whether a correction, clarification, update, retraction, or other action is warranted.
Submission of a request does not guarantee a change or removal.
Editorial decisions remain with Texas Women In Music, subject to applicable law and contractual obligations.
17. Contributor Responsibilities
Individuals producing editorial content for Texas Women In Music are expected to follow this Policy and any applicable editorial guidelines, contractual obligations, and production requirements.
Contributors are responsible for promptly notifying the editorial team if they discover a material error, conflict of interest, rights issue, or other concern involving their work.
Texas Women In Music may revise, reject, or remove submissions that do not meet its editorial standards.
18. Policy Review and Updates
We may periodically review and revise this Policy to reflect changes in editorial practices, publishing technologies, professional standards, or applicable laws.
The current version will be made available on our website with an updated effective date.
